| Original text | Στα μισά του γλεντιού του αρραβώνα γίνονταν τα ζώσματα ή μαντηλώματα. Η νύφη έζωνε τους συγγενείς του γαμπρού, ανάλογα με το γένος, την συγγένεια και την ηλικία. Τα ζώσματα ήταν: ντουρβαδάκια παρδαλά, διπλά με φύλλο κεντητό, προσκέφαλα, καραμελωτά, πετσέτες, τσουράπια κεντητά, μαντηλάκια κλπ. για τους άντρες. Για τις γυναίκες: κεφαλομάντηλα κεντητά, κάλτσες, πουκάμισα. Στα μικρά παιδιά έδιναν σακκούλι (ταγαράκι) για να βάζουν τα βιβλία τους όταν θα πήγαιναν στο σχολείο. Στα πεθερικά έδινε η νύφη και στρώμα, σκέπασμα, στρωσοβέλεντζα, προσκεφαλάδες, πουκάμισα κλπ. Τα δώρα η νύφη τα έβαζε πάνω στις πλάτες των ζωσμένων και αυτοί με αυτά στους ώμους χόρευαν και ξαναχόρευαν καμαρωτά καμαρωτά. Λόγια τραγουδιών στους αρραβώνες. Τη Δευτέρα όλοι οι μαντηλωμένοι με τα μαντηλώματα στους ώμους χορεύουν γύρω από τα προικιά και ντουφεκάνε. |
| English translation | Halfway through the feast of the engagement, there are zosmata or mantilomata. The bride would group the family of the groom according to their family relation and age. The zosmata were: brindled baggies, embroidered double sheets, headrests, sweets, towels, woven socks, handkerchiefs for men. For women there were embroidered head kerchiefs, socks, shirts. For little children: a bag to put school books inside. To the in-laws she would give a mattress, a cover, a woven overlay, pillows, shirts, etc. The gifts were offered by the bride on plates and the recipients would dance while putting them on their shoulders repeatedly, with great pride.
