| Original text | "Μετά από τον Τούρκικο ήθελε να το κόψει Μπάλλο, να βαστάς ένα μαντιλάκι ανάμεσα στα δυο χέρια στο ύψος της μέσης, να πηγαίνεις πίσω και μπρος και να κουνάς το μαντιλάκι". Τον Μπάλλο τον χορεύουν δύο άτομα, είναι Καρσιλαμάς. Τον χορεύει το αντρόγυνο μόνο του, αντικρυστά. "Μπάλλος και Μοναχικός είναι το ίδιο, οι Συμιακοί τον έλεγαν Μπάλλο, εμείς (στο Παραδείσι) Μοναχικό". "Μπάλλος-μανές, τον χορεύουν και τον τραγουδούν σαν Συρτό, Συρτο-μανές είναι το ίδιο, όταν τραγουδάνε τον Συρτό. Μπάλλο-μανέ χορεύεις μόνος σου". |
| English translation | “After the Tourkiko, he wanted to do Mpallos, to hold a kerchief between your hands, at the waist, to move back and forth, to move the kerchief.” Mpallos was danced by two people, it is a Karsilamas. It is danced only by a man and a woman, opposing each other. “Mpallos and Monachikos are the same dance, the people of Symi island were calling it Mpallos, and we (in Paradeisi) – Monachiko”. Mpallos-manes is danced and sung as Syrtos. Syrto-manes is the same thing, when they sing Syrtos. Mpallo-manes is danced by one person. |
