| Original text | Επείσακτοι χοροί, εν Αδίση συνήθως είναι ο χορός της Λάγκουης, ο χορός της Σαρή-γουζης, ο Μπαϊμπουρτλήδικος και τα μαχαίρια, χορός παρομοιάζων προς τον Λάζικον, χορευόμενος όμως μόνον υπό δύο συγχρόνως, οίτινες κρατούντες εκάτερος εις την χείρα μάχαιραν μεγάλην τουρκιστί "καρακουλάκ" λεγομένην κατά τας διαφόρους αυτών κινήσεις καθ' ας παρουσιάζονται τρόπον τινά πολεμικώς ανταγωνιζόμενοι, περιστρέφουσιν αυτήν λίαν επιδεξίως και ενίοτε ρίπτοντες υψηλά εις ικανόν από του εδάφους ύψος τόσον επιτηδείως συλλαμβάνουσιν αυτήν καταπίπτουσαν ώστε να μη πληγωθώσιν, ενίοτε δε και συγκρούουσι τας μαχαίρας των χορεύοντες υπό τον ήχον της λύρας. |
| English translation | The adventitious dances in Adisi are usually the dance of Lagkoui, the dance of Sari-gouzi, the Mpaimpourtlidikos and the knives, a dance similar to Lazikos, danced by only two people at a time however, both of them holding the great Turkish swords in their hands, the so-called “karakulak”, and during the various movements they present a somewhat warlike competition, portraying it skilfully, from time to time throwing and jumping high from the ground, at a height which protects them from being hurt, sometimes dancing with knives to the sound of a lyre. |
