| Original text | Μετά τους αποχαιρετισμούς, η νύφη έβγαινε από το καλύβι της, γύρναγε κατά την ανατολή και προσκύναγε τρεις φορές αργά-αργά κάνοντας κάθε φορά τον σταυρό της. Υστερα οι δικοί της την έβαζαν "να χορέψ' μια γύρα" στην αυλή που είχε στρωθεί χορός, λέγοντας το τραγούδι "Θα φύγω μάνα μ' και μην κλαις, και μην αναστενάζεις...". Καθώς χόρευε η νύφη, η μάνα της έριχνε σταυρωτά ζαχαρωτά με ρύζι προς τα τέσσερα σημεία του ορίζοντα από ένα λιγκέρι (πιάτο ρηχό) που κρατούσε στα χέρια της. |
| English translation | After the farewell, the bride was going out of her hut, turning towards the East and bowing in worship three times, very slowly, each time making the sign of the cross. Afterwards, her relatives were making her „ dance one round” in the courtyard where the dance was happening, with the song „I shall leave, mother, and don’t you cry, don’t sigh…” When the bride was dancing, the mother was throwing sweets with rice towards the four sides of the horizon from a flat plate ligkeri (tr: lenger) which she was holding in her hands. |
