Original text	Φάνηκε το παλληκάρι στην πίστα, φανερά σεκλετισμένο, και πρόσταξε ένα Μπάλο αγαντάδικο. Τον γνώριζε καλά και κινιόταν με άνεση και μεράκι. Δεν έχανε βήμα. Κάποια στιγμή στάθηκε και ξάνοιξε προς το πλήθος. Ναι, ήταν εκείνη που για χάρη της ήρθε από τόσο μακριά και τον καμάρωνε ανάμεσα στη φαμίλια της. Οι ματιές αντάμωσαν και μίλησαν! Τώρα έκανε νόημα στον Κατσαμπή να κάνει κάλμα στο σαντούρι για αμανέ. Σώπασαν τα όργανα εξόν από την πονεμένη δοξαριά του βιολιού που συνόδευε τον παθιασμένο λόγο: "Το να πονάς και να το λες, αυτό δεν είναι πόνος, μόνο να κλαις μερόνυχτα, και να το ξέρεις μόνος". Εβγαλε τώρα από την τσέπη του μια φούχτα καφετιά και τα τίναξε πάνω στο σαντούρι. Τώρα το βιολί ακούγονταν σ' ένα θλιβερό συνόδεμα που ράγιζε καρδιές και βούρκωνε τα μάτια.
English translation	A young man showed in the dancing floor, obviously depressed and started a male version of Balos dance. He knew it well and ws moving lightly and willingly. He din't lose a step. At some point he stopped and turned back to he crowd. Yes, it was a women for whom he danced and who came from so far and was proud of him to his family. Their eyes met and started talking! Now he made a sign to Katsabis to play an amane song with sandouri. All other organs stopped but a sorrowful fiddlestock of a violin and such words were hard „To suffer and talk a about it it is not suffering, but to cry at midnight and to be the only one to know it”. He now took out of his pocket a handful of brown [banknotes] and threw them onto the santouri. Now the violin was heard to play a sad continuation that broke hearts and filled eyes wth tears.
