Testimony of: sickle
Source Dora Stratou, The Greek Dances – our Living Link with Antiquity, Ateny 1992 (1966), s. 22
Original text But there is also a very special Dance fund nowhere else: The Dance of the sickle – which is still Dance by only two or three old men – and which is tending to disappear. The dancer hold a sickle in his hands as he dances. The movement of the sickle sometimes takes the form of harvesting and at other times, one might almost say, the form of the whip encircling the body. And this dance has always left a question mark as to its source because we clearly feel it to be of a symbolic character having deeper roots in its history.
