| Original text | Η Αλαζίγκα ή Αλασβίγκα είναι χορός παρόμοιος με το Πιπέρι, αλλά με άλλα λόγια. Την Δευτέρα βράδυ του γάμου "κάνουν την Αλαζίγκα. Αλαζίγκα είναι ο χορός, Πιπέρι είναι το τραγούδι. Λένε όποιος θέλει να φύγει, κλείνουν την πόρτα και το χορεύουν. Πολλές γυναίκες έφευγαν". "Κυριακή βράδυ στο γάμο τελείωνε ο χορός, έφευγαν οι κοπέλες, έμεναν μόνο άντρες, ούτε παντρεμένες, τότε χόρευαν την Αλαζίγκα, το ζευγάρι δεν χόρευε, παρίστατο. Τραγουδάει ο πρώτος και επαναλαμβάνουν οι άλλοι, όχι μιμητικές κινήσεις, η βάση είναι το τραγούδι, στο τέλος ο ρυθμός γίνεται πιο γρήγορος, περνάνε τα πόδια πάνω από τα χέρια, κρατούν μαντίλια και προχωράνε πηδηχτά". |
| English translation | Alazigka or Alasvigka is a dance similar to the Piperi, but with different words. On Monday evening during the wedding “they make Alazinga”. Alazinga is the dance, Piperi is the song. They tell those who wish to leave to do so, they close the door and they dance it. Many women would leave”. “Sunday evening, during the wedding, the dance would end, the girls would leave, and only men would remain. Even the married women would not stay then to dance Alazinga; the couple did not dance it although they were present. The first man would start singing, then the others would follow, without any repetitive moves, keeping the song as a reference. By the end the pace becomes faster, they pass their legs above their hands, holding the kerchiefs and they go bounding”. |
