| Original text | Ιδιαίτερα διαδεδομένος στην Ανατολική Θράκη ήταν ο Αντικρυστός ή Καρσιλαμάς. Η λέξη Καρσιλαμάς είναι τούρκικης προέλευσης (καρσί = αντίκρυ, απ' όπου και το ποντιακό γαρσί = αντίκρυ). Οι Αντικρυστοί χορεύονται κυρίως στις γαμήλιες τελετές. Οι γυναίκες κρατούν μαντίλι από δύο διαγώνιες άκρες, με τεντωμένα ή λυγισμένα τα χέρια στους αγκώνες, εμπρός από το πρόσωπό τους, ώστε να φαίνονται μόνο τα μάτια και κινούν τα χέρια δεξιά-αριστερά, παίζοντας ένα κρυφτό με τους συγχορευτές τους, ή περιστρέφουν το μαντίλι κυκλικά στη μία κατεύθυνση, ώσπου να διπλωθεί, και στην αντίθετη κίνηση, οπότε το ξεδιπλώνουν. Η κίνηση αυτή γίνεται από παππούδες και γιαγιάδες, αλλά και από σημερινά νεαρά άτομα. Στο χορό συμμετέχουν τα δάχτυλα των χεριών με ρυθμικά χτυπήματα του μέσου δαχτύλου στη βάση του αντίχειρα, αφού γλυστρήσει από την κορυφή του αντίχειρα (στη βάση του). | English translation | In Eastern Thrace the most specific dance was the Antikristos, that is: the opposite one, or Karsilamas. The word Karsilamas is of Turkish origin (karşı = the opposite, which is also the source for the Pontiac word garsi = opposite). The Antikristos dance was danced mainly on the occasion of weddings. The women hold the kerchief by its two opposing ends, folded, held in hands by the corners and in front of their faces, so that only their eyes are visible, and they move their hands left and right, playing hide and seek with the co-dancers, or they spin the kerchief around in circles in one direction until the kerchief folds up, and then in the opposite direction until it unwinds. This move is being done by the grandfathers and grandmothers, but nowadays also by the young people. Fingers are used during the dance for rhythmic snapping with the middle finger against the base of the thumb, where it slides down from the top of the thumb and down to the base.
