The innovative approach of research on Greek dance.
I wrote my PhD dissertation Self-Identification of Slav-speaking Elites from the Territory of Macedonia under Ottoman Rule (19th century) in the field of Cultural Studies at the Faculty of 'Artes Liberales', University of Warsaw, Poland, under the supervision of prof. Jolanta Sujecka within the interdisciplinary framework of International PhD Projects programme (more: www.mpd.al.edu.pl).
Before that, I have studied European Studies (MA in 2010), International Relations and Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Warsaw (2006-2013), issues of Macedonian history and culture at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje (2011, 2013), and Islamic theology at the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Sarajevo (2013/2014).
So far I have participated in four grants funded by various Polish scientific institutions (NCN/FNP). 2016-2017 I will work with professor Christian Voss in DFG Melting Borders: An Ethnography of the Movement of Peoples, Goods, and Symbols in Border-areas between Greece and the Republic of Macedonia at the Humboldt University in Berlin.
My academic interests include Balkan and Ottoman Studies, discourse and nationalism studies, Islam in the Balkans and Europe, relations between politics and religion, folk music and dances. My research languages (order reflecting the level of fluency) are: Polish, Greek, English, Macedonian, B/H/S, Arabic (fusha), French, German, Turkish, Ottoman Turkish.
